This post is dedicated to something I can't have: pineapple. It just won't mix well with my medications. Neither will grapefruit, but that's neither here nor there.

But on the bright side, I can look at pineapples all I want. And that's a good thing, because James Roday has a thing for pineapples, it seems. And I like looking at pictures of James Roday; the man has fantastic hair and the pretty doesn't hurt. Oh, and Team Shawn pwns all y'all (yes, I say "y'all". I also live in a city famous for skipping the d's and t's in words, and we end most sentences with "hun". Deal with it)

This post is also dedicated to [ profile] psychland, whose Challenge 13 articulates:

Make a picspam for a theme of your choice. Themes could be a character, a place, an object of some sort, a ship, an episode, or an abstract concept like "joy." ... post a picspam in your own journal of at least 15 images. It must be a public post so that your fellow Psych-os can see it!

and is almost inspiring me to make a -land for Burn Notice. Would anyone object/encourage/participate in a Burn Notice -land?

Under the cut, you'll find a picspam of pineapple. So while I sit here, enjoying my mango pomegranate sorbet (mango as of writing, pomegranate as of posting pomegranate is so my pineapple =D), you enjoy copious pictures of all the pineapple sightings in Seasons 1-3 since I'm too lazy to get ahold of Season 4 and edit out the watermarks of Psych. You'll also be subjected to my attempts at wit, sarcasm, and commentary. You've been fairly warned.

And since there's a massive amount of pineapple in this series, this is quite image heavy, so it may kill your browser if you're using dial-up.

Under here could very possibly be spoilers, but if you don't know the joke of the Psych pineapple, why are you here when you should be watching the show?

Season 1
Episode 1: Pilot

This is the episode that started it all. And apparently, if there had been anything other than a pineapple in that spot, James Roday would have grabbed it, because that's how he rolls, yo. So thank you, Psych props department, for putting a pineapple in that spot. A picspam of a steak would be much less interesting.

Episode 2: Spellingg Bee

This one's a bit hard to see, and it really only becomes obvious after one listens to the commentary: As Shawn is attempting to finish a dog house he started in 1989, he has a snack of some energy-rich pineapple, and gains 25 energy That's it. No more Treasure Isle for me. In his frustration of actually needing to meet the specifications set in 1989, Shawn throws his pineapple against the bumper of the truck. But we here at ectoLand™ don't condone Fruit-On-Motor-Vehicle violence unless it's really fucking funny.

Episode 3: Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Piece

This is another one that's tricky to find, but it's the first time in the series pineapple has appeared in more than one spot in an episode. In the first frame, you can see sliced up chunks on the platter behind the bad guy's hussy's maid of honor's head. The exact same fruit tray can be seen just a few minutes later on the.. giant.. squishy.. ottoman thingie. So, either those girls were too drunk the night before the wedding to put the tray in the fridge, there wasn't enough room in the budget to spring for a different fruit tray, or the Psych production crew didn't think people like me would be scrutinizing each episode and making fun of them for shit like this. I'm betting it was the latter.

Episode 4: Woman Seeking Dead Husband-Smokers Okay, No Pets

Those pineapple smoothies just look so yummy o.O No witty banter for this episode, but I will say that I want my own Magical Springy Bounce-Up Chair, and I seem to have caught Gus mid... thought... or something...

Episode 5: 9 Lives

Here we see the boys and their newest fake venture: Dial-A-Psychic! And as a courtesy and to investigate, they bring their Stress Line neighbors a pineapple =)

Episode 6: Weekend Warriors

This one took some scrutiny, but it's there: if you look closely, you can see that Shawn is drinking a pineapple Snapple. I promise you, it's there.

Episode 7: Who Ya Gonna Call?
I owe you one screencap

Episode 8: Shawn vs. The Red Phantom
I owe you one screencap

Episode 9: Forget Me Not
I owe you one screencap

Episode 10: From The Earth To The Starbucks
And, as much as I love this episode, I can't readily find the pineapple.
I owe you one screencap

Episode 11: He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not, He Loves Me, Oops He's Dead
Moral of this episode: never trust the damn leprechaun.
I owe you one screencap

Episode 12: Cloudy... Chance of Murder

I had a ridiculously hard time narrowing this down to four caps. I've got a thing for hands, and Mister Roday has some seriously nice looking hands. Plus, he just kept making adorable faces.

Episode 13: Game, Set... Muuurder?
Fun fact: ecto shares a name with a character this episode. And it freaked ecto out the first time ecto saw this episode.
I owe you one screencap

Episode 14: Poker? I Barely Know Her
I owe you one screencap

Episode 15: Scary Sherry: Bianca's Toast

We started the season with obvious!pineapple, so we'll end the season with obvious!pineapple.

Season 2
Episode 1: American Duos

First off: Tim Curry. Fluffy bathrobe.
Secondly: There is totes a pineapple over Shawn's left shoulder. That pineapple shows up a lot =D
Thirdly: The hospital scene is one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. I always liked Gina Gershon, and this episode just solidified my love. And the fact that Shawn believed a pineapple was an appropriate "Get Well" gift is just adorable =D

Episode 2: 65 Million Years Off

There's nothing you can say to convince me that Gus isn't eating pineapple out of that bowl.

Episode 3: Psy vs. Psy

Not one of my favorite episodes. Actually, it's pretty far down on my list.
But damn, that undercooked, Easy-Bake oven'd pineapple not-upside-down cake made the rounds. Gus was totally smart in not eating it. How can people eat so much on this show and not gain 38 pounds? I mean, seriously

Episode 4: Zero to Murder in Sixty Seconds
I owe you one screencap

Episode 5: And Down The Stretch Comes Murder

Aaaaah, the shirt that makes children cry. Inspired by this shirt, and the Fruity Shirt Watch over at the [ profile] bn_slash rewatch, my next picspam may just be the Fruity Shirts Of Psych. Henry would totes dominate that list.

Episode 6: Meat Is Murder, But Murder Is Also Murder
I owe you one screencap

Episode 7: If You're So Smart, Then Why Are You Dead?

I believe there is pineapple in that bowl, which indicates that Shawn's love started early. There's also a couple pineapples on the giggle wet bar, seen between the Junior Geek Squad.

Episode 8: Rob-a-Bye Baby

"You know what's not a good idea?"
"Pineapple and movie popcorn-flavored jelly beans."

And I'd so wear a shirt with a pineapple logo.

Episode 9: Bounty Hunters!

And you so get that first cap because I have that exact same Jeep. Same color too =D

Episode 10: Gus's Dad May Have Killed an Old Guy

This time, Henry's pineapple is in the fridge instead of on the counter. I just like that you can see Gus and his mom at the table =P

Episode 11: There's Something About Mira

EPIC. PINEAPPLE. And a pink golf shirt. And golf gloves. Took me forever to get that last damn cap. They wouldn't hold still.

Episode 12: The Old and the Restless

Those lamps are so funky.
That face Henry makes is the whole point of this episode. Like, really.

Episode 13: Lights, Camera... Homicicio

IT'S THE EL POLLO LOCO GUY! With a pineapple behind that box. What the El Pollo Loco guy is doing with a pineapple in his dressing room is beyond me.
And the perp Kraft assistant lady brought Chad some pineapple meatballs, which, even though you can't see them, totally count.

Episode 14: Dis-Lodged
I totally should have capped that ass-smacking scene. Srs.
I owe you one screencap

Episode 15: Black and Tan: A Crime of Fashion
I adore this episode. And I don't know why.
I owe you one screencap

Episode 16: Shawn (and Gus) of the Dead

Back on the counter where it belongs, dammit.
And, of course, since pineapple is an appropriate Get Well gift, it's also a perfectly appropriate Farewell gift.

Season 3
Episode 1: Ghosts

1: Bowl with the little cucumber sammiches.
2: Table decoration. And that will never get old.
3: By the fruit bowl. Where it belongs.
4: In that nice, unsuspecting lady's shopping cart. Ignore the wanna-be hack I seriously dislike Shakespearean actors

Episode 2: Murder?... Anyone?... Anyone?... Bueller?

Pineapples are everywhere. Great job with the tropical theme, Pep Captain Gus. And the pineapple is back in the corner, and look! Even Lassy's getting in on the pineappley goodness (and even though I like "Lassie" better, I'll go along with the way Shawn spells it =P)

Episode 3: Daredevils!

Since four pictures of funny inflatable, that-is-so-not-how-pineapples-are-grown trees would be boring, you get a lovely picture of the banner for the California State Fair I totally wanna go to the fair now =(
And a shout out to Andy Berman, who just doesn't get enough love ♥

Episode 4: The Greatest Adventure in the History of Basic Cable

As awesome as this episode is, it's severely lacking in creative pineapple. But you get a nice shot of Gus's behind and some cute cave paintings =P

Episode 5: Disco Didn't Die. It Was Murdered!

I love this episode. I couldn't stop laughing. I'm totally counting that lamp as a pineapple, even though it may be a bunch of grapes AND DON'T YOU TELL ME OTHERWISE. There's also a pineapple on that random extra's shirt AND DON'T YOU TELL ME OTHERWISE. And a pineapple is hiding behind Bad Guy #2's the nice lady's right shoulder. Behind some other plant. Some other less important plant.

Episode 6: There Might Be Blood

There are only so many pictures you can take of an old pineapple and ham pizza, so have a couple funky screencaps of Gus, and one of something I think is a letter opener with what looks to be a pineapple on the end AND DON'T YOU TELL ME OTHERWISE.

Episode 7: Talk Derby To Me
I've always wanted to be in a roller derby.
I owe you one screencap

Episode 8: Gus Walks into a Bank

"I wouldn't accept these if I were you"
"Spencer! Just put the pizzas down and walk away. Get outta there!"
"Eight pies, four of them are vegetable."
"Is this guy for real?"
"No pepperoni? Really?! Plus the blatant disregard and utter criminal lack of ham and pineapple? What kind of good faith negotiation is this?! I mean, this is a hostage negotiation!"
"I don't care if you're not happy with the ingredients! Put the pizzas down and walk away!"
"I won't let you accept these."

I love this episode as well. Awh, hell, I just love Season 3. I mean, really, Gary Cole and Alan Ruck in the same episode? Gold =D

Episode 9: Christmas Joy

This show just proves that pineapple is a perfectly appropriate gift for all occasions. And an excellent decorative serving tray topper..

Episode 10: Six Feet Under the Sea
I owe you one screencap

Episode 11: Lassie Did a Bad, Bad Thing

Everyone says this, but this episode is absolutely fantastic. And I used to use that same kind of Axe, until I discovered Old Spice's Swagger. Mmmm. Old Spice =D Lassy just looks so pathetic. Almost like kickedpuppy!SamAxe

This episode also gave us the sexiest thing in the history of sexy things. There is no pineapple in this scene, but this scene needs to be included in every Psych picspam that exists. I need to gif this. And icon this. And ohgodIloveTimOmundsonforthis

Episode 12: Earth, Wind and... Wait for It

Ms. Junior Arson Inspector has quite the nice booty How can there be so many sexy people in one scene together? Oh right. There's a pineapple on Chief Vick's desk. That's why I'm here: the pineapple. The pretty has nothing to do with it.

Episode 13: Any Given Friday Night at 10pm, 9pm Central

Lassy doesn't like it when you put your foot on his desk. He really doesn't like it when you almost knock down his drink. He's very possessive of that drink.

Episode 14: Truer Lies

Oh, and those ladies are drinking some sort of fruity drink with fruits... or something.

Episode 15: Tuesday the 17th

This is probably my favorite episode of the whole series Yeah, I know I say that about all of them, but it's just fantastically done. I love the older slasher films and if you try to tell me those remakes or sequels are better, I'll kick your ass so hard you'll see spangles, and this just.. guh.
Another episode with three instances of pineapple:
1: Creepy pineapple piƱata that was so much creepier than the Rick Astley one, and I'm terrified of clowns
2: Naked chick holding a pineapple on the teepee
3: Bloody stalker fridge pineapple

Episode 16: An Evening with Mr. Yang

These colors were so bright and primary that I barely had to edit this picture o.O If I did any more to it, we'd all go blind x.O
LOOK AT ALL THE CHILDREN! And the pineapple on the desk =P I wish my kindergarten teacher had pineapples on her desk.

Aaaaaannd that's all folks! I'll try to go back and scour the episodes where I don't have caps, but I know that the crew has said that pineapple isn't in every episode, but I'll try, dammit. I'l try.

I hope this tropical journey has been as enlightening for you as it has for me =) Enjoy, and spread the pineapple love!
